Transfers between the airport and Town.

The Athens airport is approximately 33 km outside of Athens and since the ATHENS 2004 OlympicGames it is one of the easiest airports in the world to reach from / the city centre. There are various ways to travel between Athens airport and the city centre.

1) We suggest that you get a view of the Athens suburban area using the AIRPORT BUS LINE from outside of the Arrivals Building exit. The bus ticket costs 3.20 euro per person and is valid to use for 24 hours (after validation) on all public transport (buses, trolley-buses, and the metro). Remember that for your departure it pays you to buy it and start using it 24 hrs before your scheduled departure time. These airport busses run on a 24 hour basis departing every 20 minutes during the day time. Tickets may be purchased from the bus driver, the kiosk outside the arrivals building or any metro station ticket sales office.

  1. Bus No. 94 takes you to the Metro Station of ETHNIKI AMYNA, where you can transfer to the Athens Metro.
  2. Bus No. 95 takes you to the centre of Athens, SYNTAGMA Square, across the Parliament House.
  3. Bus No. 93 takes you to the Athens Intercity Bus Station of Kifissos, while,
  4. Bus No. 96 takes you through the Southern suburbs of Athens to the port of Piraeus.

The Metro Station is 200m from the Arrivals Building and the ticket costs 6.00 euro. Departs every 30 minutes from the airport to Athens centre whisking one into the central part of town in only 40 minutes. At the last station of the airport Line (Monastiraki), you connect to the old subway line that takes you all the way to the port of Piraeus.

SUBURBAN or PROASTEIAKOS RAILWAY
The ticket costs 6.00 euro p.p. Departs every 30 minutes connecting the airport with the ATTIKO METRO line (changing platform at PLAKENTIAS Station you can take the METRO line and arrive to the city centre and not only), the Athens Railway Station and connecting the town of Corinth (75 km) with Athens within 50 minutes.

TAXI SERVICE
The taxi ride to Athens centre costs approximately 30.00 euro during daytime depending on the city traffic and this includes luggage transportation and road tolls. Taxis in Greece are allowed to take only up to 4 passengers counting the children too.
